The genesis of every idea lies in a latent need to do something different – to take what you already have and make something bigger, better… out of this world.

For ten years, IIM Indore has groomed the business leaders of the nation, harnessing its students’ potential and moulding their existing talents to produce a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts. The institute has become another byword for quality, assembled with the ranks of its illustrious elder brothers.
However, the time has come to stop looking inwards, but to open our eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. To create, innovate and express ourselves in ways that will benefit society and the country as a whole. To take India gradually, yet inexorably, to the pinnacle of global importance. The most populous democracy in the world is on the verge of an historic era of prosperity and progress. The trick is to keep your eyes open. And Imagine.
IIM Indore’s annual festival, Ahvan, will be that eye opener.
The issues we deal with aim to make India globally competent on multiple levels, while at the same time staying locally centric and, above all, socially relevant. Keeping this in mind, it is no surprise that our theme, inspired by the Nandan Nilekani book of the same name, is “Imagining India”.
Ahvan has been designed with this inspirational idea in mind, with every event epitomizing one or more of the qualities we need to make use of to take that next step.
Ashwamedha is a study in leadership and resourcefulness. Entrepreneurship? Look no further than Kalpavriksha. Gordian’s Knot tests one’s ability to rise to the challenge, while the values we share are reflected in every activity at what promises to be a Real Eye Opener.
With eminent guest speakers coming down to share with us their take on the various issues close to our hearts for the development of India, we pay tribute to the visionary leadership of Mr. Nandan Nilakeni, as we see ourself exploring several of the topics in his book.
This November, come and paint a big part of the big picture as we Imagine India.
